Gotham Swing Club Turns 20

Some nights are just magic.

Maybe it was the three hours of lessons with the amazing Kay Newhouse and Matthew Smith. I have to tell you, their positive energy is infectious! It had everyone working extra hard in between smiles and laughs.

Maybe is was the club providing a light dinner; allowing us to hang out and socialize together rather than running out separately to fuel up for the coming night.

Could it have been the raffles, door prizes, performances, cake, champagne toast, even commemorative gifts for our attending members? This might have helped too.

Maybe it was the dancing? Oh, and we danced; did we ever! Mr. John Festa played a set that will not soon be surpassed and will long be remembered. Nobody wanted to leave that dance floor, much less the party.

All of these things helped in making the night one I will remember for a long time. Most of all though; it was the people. It was so amazing to celebrate in a room filled with brand new Gotham members along with the movers and shakers who worked tirelessly to make this club great for the last 20 years. A special thanks to all of our Lifetime Members who came out to celebrate and reminisce. Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Member Appreciation day celebrating Gotham Swing Club’s 20th anniversary. It was a truly special day!
